Can I wear makeup & mascara?

You can absolutely wear makeup; however, you must use an oil-free makeup remover when removing your eye makeup. Keep in mind that any type of oil product will loosen the bond, so try to stay away from creamy cleansers as well. For this reason, mascara is not recommended and will shorten the life of your lash extensions. It is safe for contact lens wearers.

Can I resume my regular activities with these lashes?

Yes, however you should try to keep the lashes away from water for the first 24 hrs and from touching them or sleeping on them sleep on your back since the glue is still curing. Afterwards you may resume regular activities such as swimming & exercising, however you should avoid very hot steamy shower, steam rooms and saunas.

It is normal to lose a few lashes after the set has been applied?

Yes, since I cannot determine which lashes are about to be shed. Normally I just replace the lashes that have fallen at your next appointment. Please note that some lashes might also twist and some might tangle depending on the lengths. If this happens would straighten them at your next appointment and restore the natural fullness to them.

Will the lash extensions damage my own lashes?

The extensions itself will not damage your natural lashes. However, if you try to remove the extensions yourself, you may end up pulling out some of your own lashes. You can remove the lashes at any time; however this should only be done by a professional.

Can I curl my lash extensions?

You may use a heated eyelash curler but you will find curling unnecessary.

REMEMBER: How can I make my extension last longer?

You can help your new lashes stay on longer if you remember the following:

  • Avoid getting your lashes wet within the first 24 hours to allow the adhesive time to dry thoroughly.
  • We recommend sleeping on your back the first night to ensure your lashes do not become tangled while drying. In the morning, use a mascara brush to gently separate and groom your Xtreme Lashes.
  • Avoid hot steam from the shower and sauna as well as swimming and tanning salons altogether for the first 48 hours. After this period try to keep sauna, steam room & tanning visits to minimum as the application of constant heat may cause the adhesive bond to weaken.
  • Avoid using harsh mechanical eyelash curlers as they can break both natural and synthetic lashes. A Heated Eyelash Curler can be used sparingly to help shape and curl lashes on the Tips of the lashes ONLY. Do not apply heated eyelash curler to the base of the lashes where the lashes are bonded.
  • Avoid using any oil base cleansers on or near the eye area. Clients must wash eye area with mild cleanser prior to application. Use of eye makeup removers containing P.E.G. (polyethylene glycol), propylene glycol, or any other glycol-based ingredients will result in failure of lashes to bond.
  • We recommend using a sponge tipped applicator lint free cloth to gently remove makeup from around the eye. Do not use cotton balls, cotton rounds or swabs directly on the eyelashes as the fibers may get lodged in the bond area of your Xtreme Lashes.
  • Although mascara is not necessary with your  Lashes you can sparingly, on the tips only, to achieve an even more dramatic look. Avoid using oil base or waterproof mascara as the ingredients in it will dissolve the bond of the adhesive.
  • Avoid using any oil based products on or near your Xtreme lashes. Oil will dissolve the adhesive bond! Use water or gel based cosmetic products instead.
  • Avoid Chemical Peels, Alpha Hydroxyl and other highly acidic substances while wearing Xtreme Lashes Eyelashes Extensions. These substances will dissolve the adhesive bond.
  • Above all, BE GENTLE! Do not pick or pull your Nova Lashes and refrain from excessively rubbing your eyes.
  • Avoid cooking the first 48 hr eyelashes extensions are applied. Hot heat can melt or flatten shape of lashes.

When applied and maintained properly, you’re  Lashes can last up to 2 months depending on the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes and how well you maintain them. The life cycle of an eyelash is 60 to 90 days. Lashes will shed naturally at the end of their life cycle and refills (fill INS) will be necessary every 2 to 4 weeks to replace the fallen lashes.

24hr Tips: Remember that the 24hours are especially crucial for the bonding to properly occur! Common activities you need to avoid during the first 24 hours include showering, washing the eyes, tanning, applying creams or lotions to the eye area, applying mascara or any eye makeup, excessively touching the lashes, spas, saunas, steam rooms, swimming exercising, contact lens solutions and sleeping on the lashes.
